How to get free coins in video chat apps — and which "free coins" offers are scams

Almost every 1v1 video chat app runs on coins, gems or credits, and almost every one advertises free ones. Some of those offers are real and worth taking. Others are the oldest scam in the category. This guide separates the two and shows what a coin is actually worth on the main services, so you know whether "200 free coins" is a lot or a little.

The four real sources of free coins

1. Welcome bonus. Credited once when you create an account, before you pay anything. This is the biggest free amount you will ever get, so it matters what it buys: on GoLive Chat it is 200 coins where a random match costs 5, i.e. about 40 calls.
